For on week in February (7th to the 14th ) the capital is “Switching On” in an incredible show set to light up the whole of London. Many iconic buildings between Tower Bridge and London Bridge will be lit up with a variety of Lighting designs. This is the second year of this festival and this year many new locations will also benefit from illumination. From  6pm to 12pm you will be dazzled by the breathtaking sight of many of London’s famous landmarks bathed in light and colour. Around 15 artists were in involved in this exhibition and they are encouraging people to go out in the streets after dark to enjoy their wonderful displays.
The event has also taken into account the growing environmental issues too, and is environmental friendly. The project uses 320 LED light strips, each one of which only uses about 8 watts of electricity. Over the week of the festival last year, it’s estimated that the running cost will be only £20.00, which is less than many Londoner’s electricity bills!
